Staying focused, Staying connected, and in sync with the plans of God.

In Exodus 3, Moses has an encounter with God, “I Am Who I Am,” that would impact his destiny. The Lord gave him a specific plan with guidelines attached to a promise. The promise was to deliver the children of Israel out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them into a good and spacious land flowing with milk and honey. God also told Moses that the Israelites would have favor with the Egyptians and when they left, they would not leave empty handed. That every woman would borrow from their neighbor silver, gold, and clothing as their plunder.

Now in todays culture, we would have ran with that. We would have thought that everything was going to happen that same week. Without further instruction we would have approached the Egyptians (remember God gave us favor with them) requesting of their belongings to borrow. But we know according to the story, that it was the complete opposite, Pharaoh begin to make the work harder for them. How was this favor?

How many of us are guilty of that? Gods timing is so much different than ours. He’s never late, yet it appears that his timing isn’t in sync with our expectations of how things were going to happen. However, Gods timing is the best. If God gives you a vision/dream, write it down but wait on his specific instructions, simultaneously seeking his face through prayer. If he reveals to you that you are a pastor, don’t just go take up a lease and start a church. If he tells you that you are a billionaire, don’t go around buying up everything getting in debt. If he says that you are a business owner, just don’t open any random business. Whose going to pay for it? What is the vision of the business, what city is it going to be in?

So we all need to wait on God, and get specific instructions, rather than making assumptions of what we think that he is saying. He has a plan. A plan. In fact a strategic plan. I’m not saying be idle and what for answers to rain out of heaven. No, but we must receive instructions, by staying connected to God through prayer. Forget about the time frame, you estimated, wait on the plan, because you time frame could be much earlier and delay what God is trying to do in your life.
