Arise
Have you ever been in a situation where danger presented itself to you and you froze up? Perhaps you are in the passenger seat you see a car coming and the words can't come out to alert the driver. Or perhaps you are looking at your finances during the holiday time as you are balancing your check book only to find out you are in the red and at a loss of words.
Well in Acts 9:37 we are presented a situation in which Tabitha aka Dorcas who was a woman of good works and giving died. So the disciples sent word to Peter to come at once. When Peter arrived
Notice what he does
1. He removed all the crying folks from the room
2. He removed everyone from the room
Sometimes when you going through a situation all the spectators need to be removed. All the philosophies, opinions and emotions of others should be silenced
so that you alone are left with God.
Notice what Peter does next...he knelt down and prayed in v 40, then he turns to the body and said "ARISE."
He wasn't over there sobbing!
He wasn't wondering how she was going to be healed!
He was Thumbing through his notebook!
He wasn't thinking of some long religious yet mundane speech to say.
He didn't call someone and begin to tell the person his problem he was facing.
No he prayed and then said Tabitha Arise
We have been talking about speaking to your stations for a while. Yet some of us are still leary because some don't feel that they are qualified to speak and things change.
Listen the bible declares the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. So you have power, now that you are in Christ. When Jesus died on the cross he said "It is finished." So everything that he is going to do is already done. The power and authority lies in your mouth to speak. Not beg, not plead, not cry. But commanding your situation to change with authority by speaking out of your mouth.
Again to that sickness trying to confront your body, that's not the will of God
Speak to that spirit trying to operate in your children.
Speak to that marriage
Speak to your finances
Don't be afraid, when you speak things must change. Dont be side tracked by counterfit situations, they are to get you off course. Dont be distracted by the comments and the mockery of others. Stay on course, stay focused. God is going to do something amazing in you life, that will allow you to lead others to Christ. Be stong, be courageous, and go forth with boldness
